Tennis Club Krško is a medium-sized club located in the city of Krško, Slovenia. The club has over 200 members and manages 9 courts (6 outdoor and 3 indoor). Before implementing the Sporty.plus app, they used an outdated reservation system that required phone calls or on-site reservations, leading to numerous challenges in member satisfaction and organization of club activities. Membership management and tennis school operations were handled manually, requiring considerable time and paperwork.

Problem:

Outdated reservation system: Members could only reserve courts by phone or in person, resulting in a high volume of calls and long waiting times, along with general dissatisfaction. Manual management of membership and tennis school: Handling memberships and annual fees was time-consuming and often incomplete, with similar issues arising in tennis school organization. Difficulties in member notifications: Members did not have access to information on court availability and struggled to stay informed about schedule changes and club updates, especially in cases of bad weather.

Solution:

At the beginning of 2024, the club implemented the Sporty.plus app, digitalizing and automating processes such as: Court reservations: Members, non-members, and tennis school participants can easily book courts and check availability through the app, replacing all phone calls and on-site reservations. Membership management: The app allows easy handling of various membership types and annual fees, while parents and guardians can view training schedules. Automated notifications: The club can inform members about news, updates, and events via the app, with quick notifications about court status in case of rain. Additional functionalities: Members can post ads for used equipment, record results, and follow the latest news through the app.

Results:

The implementation of the Sporty.plus app has brought the following benefits to the Krško club: Reduced administration: Phone reservations have been completely eliminated, significantly reducing reception workload. Enhanced visibility: Members can check court availability and make reservations at any time, and the app also organizes all membership types, annual fees, and training schedules, reducing confusion. Efficient notifications: App notifications allow quick and effective communication with all members. Increased membership: The app’s ease of use has led to a rise in both memberships and court reservations. Connection with other clubs: Members can book courts at other clubs using the app, further enhancing satisfaction.

Conclusion:

The introduction of the Sporty.plus app was a tremendous success. Members and other users quickly adopted it, and after six months, all court reservations are made independently through the app. The club's reception and administration are now free from unnecessary phone calls. A great feature of the app is the option to easily mark courts as unplayable in case of rain. When courts are playable again, they can be reactivated in the app, and all users receive a push notification that they can resume play. Since anyone can easily install the app and register, there has been an increase in new members and court reservations. Given that the app is connected with other clubs using it, our members can book courts in other clubs, and users from other clubs can book with us. Additionally, users have various options through their profiles, such as tracking news, recording results, and posting equipment for sale. Children in the tennis school and their parents can easily view training schedules and receive notifications about changes via the app. The app has truly streamlined club operations, practically eliminating the administration around reservations, membership, and the tennis school.
